Basin Energy VP Chosen as Top 40 Under 40
Basin Energy Group is proud to announce that Matt Lowther, VP of Operations, has been chosen as one of the top 40 Under 40 energy professionals by Oil and Gas Investor magazine. Lowther was chosen from a pool of more than 200 applicants.
“Honestly, I was really surprised to be chosen,” said Lowther. “I would never have thought that I would be included in this list, but it is certainly an honor to be recognized.”
Lowther joined ProActive Services, now a Basin Energy Company, from management outside of the industry in 2012. When he started, he was managing operations for 25 employees. Lowther now oversees day-to-day operations and safety for more than 100 employees at ProActive and another Basin subsidiary, Starett Energy Services.
“This is such a well deserved distinction,” said Basin Energy CEO Bill Johnson. “Matt is a huge part of what we do at Basin Energy and it’s wonderful that he’s being recognized nationally for the tremendous job he does for us.”
Lowther credits the success he has had professionally to persistence and drive.
“Nothing is going to fall into your lap,” he said. “You have to put yourself in the position to achieve your goals, whether it’s more training, more schooling. You have to go get it. Nothing just comes to you.”
This is the fifth year the Oil and Gas Investor has put together the list of energy professionals, screening applicants each year for young people with professional excellence, entrepreneurial drive, creative problem-solving, as well as other criteria.
The full list of 40 Under 40 honorees will be included in the December issues of both Oil and Gas Investor and Midstream Business. You can also view the list online by visiting their website at www.oilandgasinvestor.com/fortyunder40.
